fifth time here - and ninth hospital day
hazelnut hopes
April 2023, we visited Lille for the fifth time. The hope was to achieve maintenance for hazelnut (please please please) AND to get Abi up a notch or two on the peanut protocol. In terms of the latter, the aim has been to (please please please) get Abi to maintenance by April 2024.
However, knowing that age plays a big role, and having shared a room on one particular visit with an older teenager who struggled massively (that was an eye opener), I haven't taken one single thing for granted. Not one. At all.
Knowing that age plays a big role, I haven't taken one single thing for granted.
And so, armed with an excellent book (thanks to a wonderful friend), a travel coffee and the usual scrunched up nervous anticipation in my tummy, we headed to the hospital for our first day on Monday 3rd, ready to meet hazelnuts head on. Thursday 6th would be peanut's turn.
Hmm... well, what a week.
And you know what? There are too many words to type. And - frankly - too many emotions. So, I'll let my face do the rest.
Note: Monday the SIXTEENTH August 2021 was our Day One
I C.A.N.N.O.T. express how much my mind has been blown by Thursday's news. How can this be possible???
Well, in the words of our deelightful consultant, "Yuh, it works, eh?"

So - what next? Our final nemesis is Walnut and his non-identical twin brother, Pecan.
We have you in our sights, boys.
And, oh, you may run. But, oh, you cannot hide.
