An early sign of other allergies arising
there goes the simplicity!
Abi was allergic to peanuts only, up until the age of 11. In the allergic world, we were definitely 'lucky' in that sense. Easy peasy, relatively speaking.
In 2018, Abi's skin prick tests showed she had developed seven more allergies, all tree nuts.

To say we were disheartened is an understatement. We had finally put aside enough money to consider potential treatment options - the main one being the Addenbrookes oral immunotherapy programme in Cambridge. Their offer of peanut OIT seemed to be all that was available to us and, despite the prohibitively exorbitant costs involved, we were committed.
Discovering that Abi now had eight nut allergies however, made us stop and regroup. Would we still go ahead with UK OIT? Was peanut-only OIT really right for us, now that we were officially a multi-nut allergy family? Was there honestly no other option?
As you can see - so many questions...
